The other
influence and originality is from Berghain a nightclub in Berlin which known to
have an impact on how people dress there the attire often found on the streets
of Berlin. The “Berlin street style” is often portrayed as dark and grunge
often connected to their graffiti covered apartment
buildings and techno subculture.
buildings and techno subculture.
The main influence for the urban street trend is streetwear
and sportswear the colours associated with the trend are mostly dark and olive
colours(berlin street style) with the prints and patterns being bold slogans,
branding placements and colour blocking which is usually displayed on comfortable
materials being denim, jersey technical- blend materials. The style is all
about wearing streetwear with high end fashion on relaxed clothing, the
trousers are usually baggy and oversized like the denim jackets in the look
matched with hoodies and puffa jackets styled with chokers for girls and finished
with punk-grunge styled boots or trainers.

From my research, I have backed up my opinion in saying that
Urban Street Fashion is for the younger generation, when you go out in public
it is mainly people under the age of 25 wearing this trend particularly people
from the age of 16 and onwards. This is because of how relaxed the look is and
not necessarily a look a parent or everyday office worker would ear, it is more
of a grunge/punk/street style influenced mainly by music artists as well as people
such as Lotta Volkova and Maxwell Osbourne. For my primary research, I asked a
range of different aged people about the trend so I could see where the trend
was happening in the different age ranges and who knew about it. I also went
into Urban Outfitters and asked some questions about why the trend is so big
and why it works so well with current consumers as well as who their biggest
consumer is for the trend and what kind of garments are mostly sold.
